West Caldwell Democrats Endorse Almeida & Lazarow
West Caldwell Democrats is pleased to endorse Jessica Almeida and Christy Lazarow, write-in Democratic candidates for West Caldwell Township Council.
Ms. Almeida is a respected local leader who seeks to bring a fresh, new perspective; one that recognizes the realities our society is facing today; to our local government and elected officials.
Ms. Lazarow brings eleven years of experience as a teacher in diverse socioeconomic classrooms, in addition to a law degree, to the Township Council and our local government.
Both candidates understand the societal changes our West Caldwell community is facing today and we know they will engage positively on social issues and advocate for transparency and accountability on behalf of all West Caldwell residents.
These have been trying times in our country. The recently held peaceful solidarity march, inspired and organized by young local leaders, was a source of pride for many residents. But our Mayor undermined those efforts, failing to acknowledge the circumstances driving the march and not understanding the current events that inspired our youth. Instead he floated an artificial cost to West Caldwell for allowing residents to exercise their first amendment rights.
West Caldwell is a community of diverse political values. As the number of Democratic voters in our community continues to grow, we need a voice at our local government table. As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote, West Caldwell has an opportunity to share in that history and elect two new, outstanding women to the Council.
Please write-in Jessica Almeida and Christy Lazarow for West Caldwell Township Council on your Democratic Primary ballot and be sure to return it by July 7.
